Why be a sponsor?
Visibility. By sponsoring CO2NNECT 2025, you gain access to a dedicated audience passionate about meeting climate goals through meaningful community engagement and carbon management technologies. Your sponsorship amplifies your recognition and positions your company as a leader in the carbon management space.
Connection. Sponsorship provides a unique opportunity to forge connections with diverse stakeholders, ranging from industry leaders to policy makers, researchers, and environmental advocates. By engaging with this multifaceted audience, sponsors can cultivate relationships, exchange insights, and collaborate on innovative solutions to address climate change challenges, ultimately driving collective action toward building clean energy projects.
Community. CO2NNECT 2025 sponsorship ensures that attending the conference remains accessible for community members, journalists, and other pivotal stakeholders – by keeping attendance fees low and providing a limited number of travel stipends. This vital support strengthens CO2NNECT 2025’s impact, ensures everyone has a seat at the table, and creates lasting connections with communities passionate about driving positive change.
Why Texas?
Texas is already home to several large-scale carbon management projects, and with its significant geologic storage potential, the state is poised to see even more. The industrial sector in Texas, including the state’s refineries and petrochemical plants, accounts for more than half of the state’s energy consumption and 23 percent of the nation’s total industrial sector energy use. Texas has an immense opportunity to deploy carbon management technologies to lower carbon emissions, improve air quality, create high-quality jobs, and spur economic investment across the state.
The Great Plains Institute (GPI) is developing a Texas Carbon Management Roadmap, assessing the state’s carbon management opportunities and outlining key policies and recommendations to promote climate and economic benefits. In the future, we are planning to develop a Texas Decision Support Tool to enhance transparency and align community values when evaluating proposed carbon management projects. Hosting CO2NNECT 2025 in Texas provides a timely platform to discuss the state’s carbon management future while providing stakeholders nationwide an opportunity to learn from various approaches to public engagement, community partnerships, and policy design.
