Diana Leane joined the Great Plains Institute in 2022 as a Communications and Public Relations Strategist for the Carbon Management team. Within the team, Diana supports the Carbon Action Alliance. The Alliance unites GPI’s federal, state and regional initiatives to educate and advocate for the deployment of carbon management technologies that are needed to reach net-zero emissions by 2050 in the United States.
Prior to joining GPI, Diana worked as a freelance journalist and published work in Energy News Network, Detroit Public TV’s Great Lakes Now program and the Chicago Tribune. She most recently reported on the challenges regulators faced in enforcing federal coal ash rules. Diana holds a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University and received a bachelor’s degree in journalism with concentrations in international relations and Spanish from Boston University.
