The Carbon Capture Coalition’s 2023 consensus Federal Policy Blueprint articulates a comprehensive and ambitious federal policy agenda to help achieve the goal of economywide carbon capture deployment to help meet net-zero emissions to meet midcentury climate goals while strengthening and decarbonizing domestic energy, industrial production, and manufacturing, and retaining and expanding a high-wage jobs base. The Policy Blueprint builds upon previous Coalition policy blueprint and subsequent policy victories, including the historic investments made to deploying carbon management technologies in the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and critical enhancements to the 45Q tax credit in the last congress.
It reflects the federal policy priorities of the Coalition for the 118th Congress; outlining a policy, regulatory, and implementation agenda necessary to realize widespread adoption and deployment of carbon capture, removal, and utilization technologies and associated development of CO₂ transport and storage infrastructure.
